We also had a "super" user who wants to resume working on files at home or on the plane, so she opens 10s of xls etc the let the lappy go to sleep.

In most cases people close the lappy screen just to go into meetings etc so we usually set "do nothing".

Lappy going to sleep still uses power.worse if the batt drains when in sleep and the lappy does not wake up.there are instances that lappy goes to sleep with some USB devices plugged in (especially mobile phones) then the lappy wakes up (usually in another location) then goes into BSOD as the USB devices are not longer there with improper removal. It is about company policy and not what each user wants. Would that also set it one time and then not again if someone changes it? Or, Maybe I could leave it as Update but check the box for Apply once and do not reapply. I think I could change it from Update to Create and then it would set it and allow people to change it. This GPO is setup as Update so if someone changes their own settings, it will change back automatically. We have a GPO for Power Options that sets the High Performance plan as the standard and that plan has Do Nothing for both settings. So, how do we give everyone what they want? But others don't want theirs to go to sleep when unplugged. He's fine with it doing that only when unplugged. We have one person who wants his laptop to go to sleep when he shuts the lid. People go to a meeting and then have to wake the computer back up when they get there and things like that. Let us know if the issue is resolved or if you require further assistance.Normally we don't want laptops to go to sleep when docked or undocked.
